 Description  « Hide
To what extent should we integrate subversion and jira?

We could:

- require jira issue ids in all subversion checkins
- update jira issues for any checkin that contains its id

I am ok with non-mandatory handling of jira id's, but since jira doesn't appear to be a GPL/LGPL tool, I would feel queasy about making it mandatory.

I'm curious about why that matters - the tracking system has no local component on the developers system. Only the server is running it.

Incidentally, Jira is generally open-source friendly (or we would not have selected it). See http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/SFS-6

Looks like this is in the pipeline for Jira 3.0 (don't know when that is):

There is now a Subversion plugin for JIRA 3 that may be of use in fixing this issue :)

Cheers,
Mike

We can't use this yet in our configuration, because it requires svn: protocol access, which we don't have for security and administrative simplicity reasons.

I'll keep tracking it though - it looks very cool

Version 0.5 of Mike's plugin supports http protocol.
