Based on what I've seen with my test setup, the Polycom firmware changes its handling of the dialing pattern between rev. 2.1.0.27078 and rev. 2.1.0.2727, namely, that "*" now needs to be explicitly specified in the dialing pattern for dialstrings that include "*" to be allowed by the phone.
