Go to the Dial Plan page and attempt to add a new "Local" dial plan. On the Dial Rule page, note that the Permission is set to "Local Dialing". Give it a name, and click "OK".

On the Dial Plans page the new dial plan is listed, but its Type is shown as "Long Distance".

Starting from 3.6 most dialing rules are long distance dialing rules.
When you select Local you only affect the default permission for newly created plan.

I see now that the "Long Distance" rule type is distinct from the "Long Distance" permission.

Can we change the label of "Long Distance" rule type to avoid this confusion? Perhaps "External" or "Standard External"?

Damian Krzeminski - 2007-05-16 17:03
Need a good label: 'External' is OK but most of the rules are External
