The current default Polycom digitmap value works only for the sipXecs default Dial Plan (3 digit extensions, "100" Attendant, "101" Voicemail, etc.) Using a non-default Dial Plan causes Polycom phones to not dial correctly by default.
The implementation of
XCF-692 will automatically set-up the correct value based on the current Dial Plan. But in the meantime, on the assumption that it is preferable to go with basic but working functionality for
everyone, versus advanced functionality for most and broken for some...
The improvement request is that the default Polycom digitmap value be changed to blank. (sipXconfig//neoconf/etc/polycom/phone.xml, plus unit test files.)
It would be useful to move the old default value into the help text for this field.
Background discussion:
http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-dev/msg12018.html
sipxproxy 3.10.3-013975 2008-11-11T06:58:52 oem-3.10-centos5
sipxconfig 3.10.3-013975 2008-11-11T07:08:37 oem-3.10-centos5
Steps followed for verification.
Navigate to Phones->dial plan page
Digit Map edit box is now set to blank and the Help text shows the old default value
("[2-9]11|0T|100|101|011xxx.T|9011xxx.T|1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|91[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|9[2-9]xxxxxx|*xx|[8]xxx|[2-7]xx" "
Hence closing the issue.
