 Description  « Hide
This was found in our labs when performing SIP Interoperability testing against Nortel SCS500. The issue is one of the required Pass Test Cases for SIP "Phone" UAs to be listed as "Registered" SIP Interoperable with Nortel SCS500. It requires that the UA meet a set of the guidelines for Dialog Event Packages described in http://tools.ietf.org/id/draft-worley-sip-dialog-03.txt. The errors are as follows (details are attached):
 - Guideline 5: Duration element absent.

 - Guideline 6B/6D: Local identity absent.

 - Guideline 6C/6E: Local target 'sip:1332@hhart0a4.europe.nortel.com' is not an IP address.

 - Guideline 6B/6D: Remote identity 'sip:1331@192.122.24.185:5060' is not an AOR in hhart0a4.europe.nortel.com.

 - Guideline 6C/6E: Remote target absent.

This is Test Case 2.25 from the Registered Product Interoperability Test Plan for 3rd Party SIP User Agents with SCS500 document, which is available through the Nortel Developer Program: http://www.nortel.com/developer Contact Paul.Arens@Polycom.com for Polycom's credentials for this site.

Downgrade to Minor due to an absence of a customer affecting issue.

Guidance from Dale:

- The most important item is "Guideline 5: Duration element absent", since this affects Call Pickup functionality. When a phone has multiple ringing calls is the target of a Call Pickup, that feature is supposed to pick up the call that has been ringing the longest. It expects to use the duration elements in order to determine this. If the duration elements are missing, then it may be a matter of chance which call gets picked up.

- Re-arranging some of the existing values would quickly fix two of the issues:
The current "Remote identity" value is actually a correct "Remote target" value.
The current "Local target" value is actually a correct "Local identity" value.
