This issue has happened to VMail messages received in my mailbox a few times now.
At present I have 2 Voicemails in my Box that have cut of the callers message before they have finished.
The first from Alicja that cut after approx 26 seconds.
The second from me that was a test Vmail that cut after approx 17seconds
I was leaving a message then suddenly heard the prompt for me to send or re-record the message (pressed no keys on my set at this time)
My Mailbox is SIP user 2500
I have not added a Snapshot as it is too big over 150Mb so any log files needed can be taken from the live system

Note that this currently happens in 4.0.4 as well though possibly for different reasons. Only thing that ever fixes it temporarily (works fine for about a month) is a full server restart (not just the services, I have to warm reboot).

Just thought you should know...

This issue is reproducible with our setup also in the following build ,

sipxproxy 4.1.7-018308 2010-03-13T14:50:20 oem-centos5
sipxconfig 4.1.7-018308 2010-03-13T14:32:20 oem-centos5

Gateway used - Audiocodes Mediant 1000 PRI

1. Made an inbound call to SCS user 372 and rejected the call from 372 .
2. Call roles to voicemail (PSTN user hears VM prompt) .
3. Voicemail cut's off while recording , in my case after 17 seconds . But voicemail is delivered to the user as expected.

The wav file you attached has just a little bit of noise in it but that is it. Did you record an actual message at a reasonable volume? When you say the message was delivered as expected .. when you listen to it .. is at a normal volume or is it quiet?

Attached new voicemail wav file and snap-shot . Yes yesterday I did not recorded voicemail with full volume .
Today I tried same scenario and following are the observations .

* Recorded voicemail with full volume .
* While recording voicemail , exactly after 1 minute call got ended automatically (No prompt heard after recording).
* Voicemail delivered to the user as expected and successfully able to retrieve the deposited voicemail .

ok .. that seems like a different problem though.

Could you do the following 15-20 times:

1) call in via the PRI gateway
2) leave a message in a mailbox, record at a reasonable but low volume (a volume that
the system should reasonably not consider to be silence).
3) record for 20 seconds then hangup

If you find a case where the prompt plays during recording then save that message and attach it to the Jira.

Hi Peter ,

I tried the scenario as you mentioned for around 10 times . In all the cases voicemail got cut off after 10 seconds while recording.
Attached screenshot which shows voicemails .

I retested this with the Audiocodes FXO 114 gateway and got the same results .

After 10 seconds voicemail recording got cut off . By seeing at the merged log , IVR is sending the the "BYE" signal to sipXproxy .

In case of sipXbridge issue is reproducible intermittently .

The wav file you provided with the PRI gateway test was very low in volume (when played using a media player .. ie. not played over a phone set).

For each failure could you check the volume level by playing the wav file via a media player. Perhaps compare to wav file recorded via a call that does NOT go through the gateway.

I strongly suspect this is a low volume problem. Freeswitch does silence detection and if the voice volume during record is too low for too long then recording will stop and the voice prompt you heard will indeed be played.

I can only reproduce the issue if I speak quietly when recording.

in revision 18369 lowered silence threshold from 500 to 200 (200 is the Freeswitch default for silence threshold).

Ananda please test the VMail Message cut off issue over a Gateway in this new build that now has the silence threshold lowered please, I cannot test this as I do not have an Audiocodes Gateway in my lab.
thanks

Hi Peter ,

I retested with the following build ,

sipxproxy 4.1.7-018379 2010-03-23T00:45:37 oem-centos5
sipxconfig 4.1.7-018379 2010-03-23T00:28:17 oem-centos5

I deposited some voicemails with full volume and in this case I was able to record voicamails for longer duration without any problem . Same thing can be observed in case of voicemails with low volume .

But the problem now is only with the complete silent voicemails . While recording if I don't speak at all , then the voicemail cut's off after 10 seconds . There is already one issue is there for that XX-6510 .

Attached Files :
--------------------
1. Full_volume.wav
2. low_volume.wav
3. no_volume(silent).wav

So please suggest whether this issue can be closed ?

Thank you ,
Naveen

I have tried to re-create this issue on the Ottawa SCS with Build 4.1.7-018386 by creating both normal volume and very low (whispering) Voice messages and I cannot re-create issue since Peter changed the threshold. Closing Jira
